List of Lithuanian envoys and (since 1992) ambassadors to the Holy See in Rome . Much of the population in the country are members of the Roman Catholic Church .
Heads of mission
From 1940 to 1990 the heads of missions to the Holy See were appointed by the Lithuanian government in exile , and the mission was part of the foreign service, which was also in exile at the time .
