The list of caves in New Zealand lists the caves in New Zealand . Not all caves have official government geographical designations recognized by the New Zealand Geographic Board . The New Zealand Speleological Organization registers and maps all known caves. It also gives new caves an "unofficial" name, usually that of the discoverer.
