Literary March

The literary march is a poetry competition in Darmstadt that takes place in the form of a biennale and in the framework of which the Leonce and Lena Prize and the Wolfgang Weyrauch Prize are awarded after a public reading by the finalists. The competition has been held since 1968. In addition to the public reading, there is a panel discussion with a prominent guest. So far, guests have included: Karl Krolow , Ernst Jandl , Volker Braun , Friederike Mayröcker , Oskar Pastior , Joachim Sartorius , Monika Rinck and Jan Wagner . Furthermore, there is a series of anthologies in which the texts of the competition participants are documented, which is also entitled Literary March . So far 17 volumes have appeared in this series, the city of Darmstadt acts as the editor.
