The Little Murray River is a 30.5 kilometer long, northeast branch of the Murray River in the extreme south of the Australian state of New South Wales .

geography

The branch branches off about 4.5 kilometers northwest of Barham at an altitude of 85  m on the right side of the Murray River. The river flows in a strongly meandering course in predominantly north-westerly directions. After a river stretch of 30.5 kilometers (about 14.5 kilometers as the crow flies) , the side arm flows back into the Murray River at 78  m . With a height difference of 7 meters, the mean bed slope is 0.2 ‰.

Between the Murray River and Little Murray River is Campbells Island , which includes part of the Campbells Island State Forest .
