Little Queen of Spades is a blues title by the American blues musician Robert Johnson . He took the song on June 20, 1937 in San Antonio , and first published it in 1938 at the label Vocalion Records (# 04108). The first version has a playing time of 2 minutes and 11 seconds. A second, four seconds longer version of the piece is considered an alternate take and first appeared in 1990 on Johnson's album The Complete Recordings ( Columbia Records # 46222).

Cover versions

The British folk musician Ian A. Anderson recorded the song for the album The Inverted World (1969), which was presented together with Mike Cooper . Likewise coverte also the songwriter Nick Garrie the song. Eric Clapton made known through his interpretations of the title Little Queen of Spades . From the 1970s onwards, he often played the song during his concerts around the world, including the 2014 Eric Clapton World Tour . Clapton released a studio version on the studio albums Me and Mr. Johnson and Sessions for Robert J in 2004.
