Liu Linrui
Liu Linrui (. Chin刘麟瑞; Zi : Shiqi石奇; * 1917 in Cangzhou , province Hebei , † 1995 in Beijing ) was a hui-Chinese Arabist and translator. He was a professor of Arabic at Peking University and was considered a national expert.
He studied at al-Azhar University in Egypt . After returning to China, he worked at Nanjing College of Oriental Languages and the Faculty of Oriental Languages and Literature at Peking University . He is considered to be one of the pioneers of Arabic studies in Chinese higher education.
He worked as an interpreter for Mao Zedong , Zhou Enlai , Liu Shaoqi and other personalities from party and state leadership and attended many important international conferences.
Liu was a member of the Chinese Society for Arabic Literature and a corresponding member of the Jordan Academy of the Arabic Language . He was one of the Fellows of the Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought (Royal Aal al-Bayt Institute for Islamic Thought).
Among other things, he was the main editor of the Hanyu Alaboyu cidian / Muʻjam al-Sīnīyah al-ʻArabīyah (Chinese-Arabic dictionary) and worked on various other Arabic dictionaries.
