Liu Shasha (* 1993 or 1994 ) is a Chinese pool player . She became world champion in the 9-ball discipline in 2009 , 2014 and 2015 .

Career

singles

In November 2009, at the age of 16, Liu Shasha became the 9-ball world champion by beating Karen Corr in the final . A year later she was eliminated in the semifinals. At the 2010 China Open she reached the quarter-finals. In November 2010 she won the gold medal in the 8-ball singles at the Asian Games in the final against the South Korean Kim Ga-young . In April 2011 she made it to the semi-finals at the Philippines Open and a few days later to the quarter-finals at the Beijing Open. In September 2011 she was eliminated from the quarter-finals of the 9-ball world championship , as well as the 2011 10-ball world championship . At the 9-Ball World Cup in 2012 , she lost 8: 9 in the semifinals to future world champion Kelly Fisher and then defeated Taiwanese Tsai Pei-chen 9: 6 in the game for third place. At the 10-Ball World Cup in 2012 , she was eliminated in the quarter-finals.

In May 2013, Liu Shasha won the China Open by beating her compatriot Chen Siming 9: 8 in the final . In August 2013 she was defeated in the semi-finals of the 9-ball world championship by Taiwanese Lin Yuan-chun and won the game for third place with 9: 3 against Tan Ho-yun . At the 10-Ball World Cup in November 2013, she was eliminated in the second round. At the China Open 2014 she reached the semifinals and was eliminated from the eventual tournament winner Yu Han . In October 2014, Liu became 9-ball world champion for the second time with a 9-8 final win over Chen Siming . A month later she moved into the final of the All Japan Championship and lost to Taiwanese Wu Zhi-ting 3:11.

In 2015, Liu reached the second round of the Chinese 8-Ball World Championship , the Amway World Open and the China Open . In November 2015 she successfully defended her title at the 9-ball world championship with a 9: 4 win in the final against Austrian Jasmin Ouschan . In March 2016, Liu finished third in the Chinese 8-Ball World Championship . At the China Open 2016 she reached the final, but had to admit defeat to her compatriot Yu Han 8: 9. In December 2016 she was eliminated in the round of 16 of the 9-Ball World Cup against Gao Meng .

With the Chinese national team, Liu reached the semi-finals of the World Team Championship in 2012 . Two years later she became world champion with the Chinese team by beating the Philippines 4-2 in the final.
