Liv Migdal

Liv Migdal (* 1988 in Herne ) is a German violinist.

Life

Liv Migdal started playing the violin when she was three years old. She has been a student of Christiane Hutcap since 1994 . In 2001 she received a scholarship from the Horst Rahe Foundation . She has given concerts in Sweden, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Poland and Israel and played as a soloist with the New Westphalian Philharmonic , the Polish Chamber Philharmonic , the Eskilstuna Symphony Orchestra, the North German Philharmonic , the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra , the Bochumer Symphoniker , the KlassikPhilharmonie Hamburg a. a. Liv Migdal is the daughter of the Hamburg piano professor Marian Migdal . She is also the younger sister of actress Nadia Migdal. In 2009 she was accepted into the German National Academic Foundation , in the same year she received a scholarship from the Yehudi Menuhin Foundation “Live Music Now”.

Awards

In 2005 Migdal received the Premio Utopia Napoli award in Italy . The winner of the 1st International Hindemith Competition in Berlin played the violin concertos by Tchaikovsky and Mendelssohn in the Laeiszhalle Hamburg in 2008 and 2009 . At the beginning of 2010, Liv Migdal won first prize at the international string competition of the Yamaha Music Foundation of Europe . Shortly afterwards, she won the 2010 Music Prize from the Society for the Promotion of Westphalian Cultural Work and received a special award at the Alois Kottmann Prize in Frankfurt am Main.
