Live Around the World is a live album by the American jazz musician Miles Davis . The CD contains live recordings from 1988 to 1991 and was released five years after Davis' death. The album debuted at number 4 on the Billboard Top Jazz Albums chart.

The recordings were made in the Osaka Expo Park at the Live Under the Sky Festival in Osaka (August 7, 1988), in the Greek Theater , Los Angeles (August 14, 1988), in the Liebenauer ice rink in Graz (November 1, 1988), in Indigo Blues Club in New York City (December 17, 1988), at Le Zenith Sud in Montpellier (April 12, 1989), in the Chicago Theater at the JVC Jazz Festival in Chicago (June 5, 1989), at the Pallazo Della Civita in Rome (July 26, 1989), in the Casino de Montreux at the Montreal International Jazz Festival (July 20, 1990) and in the Chapiteau in Andernos-les-Bains (July 21, 1991).

reception

Scott Yanow wrote for Allmusic : "No Miles Davis collection is complete without this important compilation." Jon Andrews of Down Beat magazine said his "once controversial" popcovers benefited from "additions and improvisations". Village Voice critic Robert Christgau was less enthusiastic and considered it a "dud".
