Livio Philippe Jean-Charles (born November 8,  1993 in Cayenne ) is a French basketball player .

career

Jean-Charles grew up in French Guiana , switched to the French youth academy INSEP as a teenager and signed his first contract as a professional basketball player with the first division club ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne in 2011 . In 2013, the San Antonio Spurs secured the rights to the French. However, he stayed with ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne for the time being. In the 2015/16 season he was French champion with ASVEL before he was awarded a contract by San Antonio in the summer of 2016. However, he did not make the leap into the squad and was deleted from the preliminary roster of Spurs in October 2016. Instead, Jean-Charles played for San Antonio's training team in the NBA D-League , the Austin Spurs , in the 2017/18 season and scored an average of 9.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per encounter in 43 games.

At the end of March 2017 he returned to ASVEL. In the 2017/18 season he played again for the Austin Spurs and averaged 11.3 points and 5.6 rebounds in 45 missions. In March 2018 he moved to CB Málaga in the Spanish ACB league and played eight games in which he averaged 1.3 points and collected 3.1 rebounds. For the 2018/19 season, Jean-Charles returned to ASVEL, but was plagued by knee problems during the season and was therefore absent for a long time, but became French champions with the team.

In summer 2020 he signed a contract with the top Greek team Olympiacos Piraeus .

National team

Jean-Charles was a French international in the U16, U18 and U20 age groups. He was appointed to the senior national team for the first time in August 2017.
