Liza Ferschtman (* 1979 in Hilversum ) is a Dutch classical violinist.

Life

She was born the daughter of Russian Jews. Her parents were both musicians, her father was a cellist. The violinist Philipp Hirschhorn , who was a close friend of the family, had an initial influence on her . Liza Ferschtman received lessons from Herman Krebbers at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam , Ida Kavafian at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia and David Takeno in London .

Ferschtman has u. a. performed with the Concertgebouw Orchestra (Amsterdam) and the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra . She was a soloist with the Orchester National de Belgique , Yomiuri Nippon Sinfonierorchester , Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra , Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra , and the Bremen Philharmonic . She worked with the conductors Christoph von Dohnányi , Neeme Järvi , Iván Fischer , among others .

On November 24, 2006, Ferschtman received the Nederlandse Muziekprijs .

Since 2007 she has been artistic director of the Delft Chamber Music Festival .
