Lizzie Hosaeus

Lizzie Hosaeus (* 1910 ; † 1998 ) was a German painter , graphic artist , illustrator and ceramist . She lived and worked in Berlin.

Live and act

After fairy tale illustrations and book covers in the 1930s and 1940s, she found critical graphics after the Second World War , which she implemented using the techniques of lithography, hand typesetting, woodcut, etching, writing, pure graphics and drawing.

She is the daughter of the German sculptor and medalist Hermann Hosaeus . She was a member of the Innviertler Künstlergilde through the forest adviser and painter Karl Hosaeus and belonged to the Association of Berlin Women Artists , where she was temporarily active on the board. She is buried at the side of her partner, the journalist Annamarie Doherr , in the St.-Annen-Kirchhof in Berlin-Dahlem .
