Jamyang Lobsang Jigme Thubten Chökyi Nyima (* 1948 ) from Gangca (Kangtsha) in Qinghai has been the 6th Jamyang Shepa Rinpoche since 1952 and a high-ranking Chinese politician who holds numerous offices. He is vice chairman of the Chinese Buddhist Society and since 2003 director of the Chinese Academy of the Tibetan Language for Advanced Buddhist Studies , founded in 1987 by the 10th Penchen Lama , "the highest state-sponsored educational institution for Tibetan reincarnations and monks", a kind of college of Tibetan Buddhism with headquarters in the Western Yellow Temple in Beijing , the highest institution of Tibetan Buddhism in the People's Republic of China .
