Locatelli is an old noble family who came from Bergamo and came to Austria . She is said to have received a nobility diploma from Emperor Friedrich II in 1229 .

On May 20, 1647 the family of Ferdinand III. raised to the baron status. The family was raised to the rank of count in 1816.

The Locatelli family comes from Austrian counties in what is now Italy. The Locatellis had relatives in Austria, France, Bavaria and Hungary, among others.

Mentioned since the 13th century, members of the family later held high offices as generals and landowners in the Habsburg monarchy .

Emperor Ferdinand II confirmed Johann Baptist von Locatelli and his sons Andreas and Anton with a diploma of March 8, 1634, the old nobility with the title of Eulenburg and improved the coat of arms. Emperor Ferdinand III. On May 20, 1647, Andreas and Anton von Locatelli were raised to the baron rank with von Eulenburg and Schönfeld . One branch was accepted into the Gorizia nobility on February 28, 1659. One branch of the family was represented as a baronial family in the Austrian manor house .

Lines and descendants

The Locatelli family was divided into several lines. The count's line flourished in Lower Austria, with the possession of Schloss Immendorf in the Weinviertel. The baronial line worked in Salzburg and Trieste . The Trieste branch merged with a branch of the Lords of Hagenau , thus creating the line of the Barons von Hagenauer-Locatelli. Today's descendants of the families live in Italy.

Possessions

The Counts in Lower Austria owned Immendorf Castle in Wullersdorf until it passed into the possession of the Barons of Freudenthal in 1886. Triester line had the City Palace in Cormòns , the local winery Angoris, castles and estates in Villa Nuova, Borgnano (in Cormòns), Aquileia and Villa Murat in Trieste.
