Loch Staoisha is a lake on the Scottish Hebridean island of Islay . The maximum 610 m long and 300 m wide, north-south extending lake is located in the thinly populated, hilly region in the northeast of the island. The closest localities are Bunnahabhain, two kilometers to the northeast, and the Port Askaig ferry port, three kilometers to the southeast . Loch Staoisha is fed by six small streams. The only outflow is a small stream that flows off the north bank and flows into Islay Sound near Bunnahabhain . The Bunnahabhain whiskey distillery uses the lake water to cool its distillers . The lake is not connected to the island's road network. About a kilometer to the east is the neighboring lake Ardnahoe Loch .

About 60 m away from the west bank is a small, round island. This is possibly a Crannóg . It is probably artificial and has a diameter of 24 m at the bottom of the lake and 14.3 m at the surface. The flanks consist of coarse stone material that rises sharply from the lake bed. The island, which is now forested, rises up to 2.60 m above the water surface. In the center are the foundations of a pentagonal building , which are still around 30 cm high today . There is no dam between the island and the lake shore.
