Loch of Flugarth
The Loch of Flugarth is a lake ( hole ) in the north of Mainland , the main island of about Scotland scoring Shetlands . It is located in the north of the North Roe Peninsula in the community (Community Council Area) Northmavine . The lake is about 800 meters long and 200 meters wide, its water surface is about two meters above sea level , the maximum depth is around two and a half meters. The only noteworthy tributary is the Vatsendi Burn, which rises on the Beorgs of Skelberry to the southwest . The runoff takes place in the north via a brook that crosses an approximately 80 meter wide isthmus into the sand Voe , a bay in the North Atlantic .
The immediate shore area is uninhabited, about 200 meters away are Sandvoe in the northwest, the hamlet of Flugarth in the east and the foothills of North Roe in the south.
