Lochenbach is a district of the Bavarian community Auhausen in the Donau-Ries district .

geography

The village is about two kilometers southwest of Auhausen on the edge of the Nördlinger Ries . In the east the Wörnitz flows past the village. The district road DON 14 runs through the village .

history

Lochenbach was first mentioned in writing in the 11th century and is historically closely linked to the neighboring village of Dornstadt . Even if the place did not play a major role in the history of the area, there is still a legal battle between the Lords of Cronheim who wanted to build a mill here in the 12th or 13th century. The abbot of the Auhausen monastery objected to this. After a long investigation and judgment by the Count of Oettingen , the monastery was approved. A fiefdom located in Lochenbach was given to the Auhausen Monastery by Eichstätter Bishop Heinrich IV of Württemberg on October 24, 1251. After the Thirty Years War, Protestant exiles settled from Austria .

On January 1, 1975, the previously independent municipality was incorporated into Auhausen as part of the municipal reform .

today

The place is still largely agriculturally oriented today. There is a volunteer fire brigade , other interests are pursued in the associations in the neighboring towns.
