Locheport ( Gaelic : Loch Euphort ), also Locheuphort , is a scattered settlement on the Scottish Hebridean island of North Uist . It is located in the south of the island on the south bank of the Loch Euphort inlet around four kilometers east of Clachan na Luib , off the A865 . Lochmaddy , the main town on the island, is nine kilometers to the northeast.
In Locheport there are two monuments of the highest category A. 29 Locheport is a cottage from the 19th century. Just like the cottage from 1910 at 9 Locheport , the quarry stone construction corresponds to the historically typical residential building architecture in the Hebrides .
