The Loisach-Isar Canal is a canal in the Upper Bavarian district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen .

Since water from the Isar river system has also been flowing into the Kochelsee and thus into the Loisach since the Walchensee power plant was built , the flood risk for the city of Wolfratshausen increased . The Loisach-Isar Canal was built from 1921 to 1924 in order to channel the additional water from the power plant past the city. It is diverted from the Loisach near Beuerberg and runs parallel to the river for the first eight kilometers. South of Wolfratshausen, the canal turns to the east and flows into the Isar after a total length of about 10.5 km . The Loisach itself crosses the urban area of Wolfratshausen and meets it about 3.5 km down the Isar. Bavaria's first artificial surf wave emerges below the power station at the Weidachmühle .
