The local railway Štramberk-Wernsdorf was a local train - stock company in today's Czech Republic . The route leads from Štramberk to Veřovice in Northern Moravia.

On September 2, 1895, the company Lindheim & Comp. the concession "to build and operate a standard-gauge local railway from the Wernsdorf station on the Kojetein – Bielitz line of the privileged Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn to the Stramberg station of the Stauding-Stramberger local railway" was granted. The company's share capital totaled 1,040,000 crowns in 2,600 ordinary shares of 400 crowns each.

The line was opened on July 25, 1896.

The Stramberg – Wernsdorf local railway initially carried out the operation itself. From January 1, 1903, this task was transferred to the Kaiser Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB). After its nationalization in 1907, the management was transferred to the kk Austrian State Railways (kkStB). After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways ČSD took the place of the kkStB .

In 1942, the Stramberg – Wernsdorf local line merged with the Stauding-Stramberger Railway . The new railway company operated from then on as Eisenbahn AG Stauding – Stramberg – Wernsdorf / Železniční akciový společnost Studénka – Štramberk – Veřovice . On January 1, 1951, the company was nationalized and integrated into the ČSD network.

Locomotives

The Stramberg – Wernsdorf local railway procured two triple-coupled local railway tank locomotives from Krauss in Linz with the names WILHELM and CARL . At the KFNB, they later bore the numbers 904 "and 920 of the class IX . At the kkStB, the locomotives were classified in series 162 (162.41 and 42).
