The local railway Opava – Grätz (Czech: Místní dráha Opava – Grätz ) was a state-guaranteed local railway - stock corporation in today's Czech Republic . The company's route led in Austrian Silesia from Opava ( Troppau ) to Hradec nad Moravicí ( Grätz ). The company had its seat in Opava.

history

On August 13, 1904, “ the municipality of Troppau was given the requested concession to build and operate a standard-gauge local train from the Troppau station of the kk priv. Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn, possibly sharing a section of the Troppau – Bennisch line from this railway company to Grätz “Granted. Part of the concession was the obligation to start construction of the line immediately and to finish it within two years. The company's share capital, which was largely subscribed by the public sector, totaled 585,000 crowns . The shares were owned by the Austrian state, the Duchy of Silesia , the city of Opava and some local interested parties. The line was opened on June 28, 1905.

The operation was carried out by the kk privileged Kaiser-Ferdinands-Nordbahn (KFNB) on behalf of the local railway Troppau-Grätz. After their nationalization, this task was transferred to the kk Staatsbahnen (kkStB) on January 1, 1907 . After the First World War, the newly founded Czechoslovak State Railways (ČSD) took over the management of the kkStB.

The nationalization and dissolution of the company came as a result of the annexation of the Sudetenland to Germany in the autumn of 1938. The law of August 2, 1940 “regarding the takeover of railways in the Reichsgau Sudetenland and in the parts of the southern German areas incorporated into the Reichsgaue Oberdonau and Niederdonau on the Reich "regulated u. a. the nationalization of nine local railways with a total length of 169.77 km, in which the Czechoslovak state had already held the majority of the shares. The Troppau – Grätz local railway was henceforth part of the network of the Deutsche Reichsbahn , Reichsbahndirektion Opole . After the end of World War II , she came back to the ČSD.

The route is now numbered 315 and is mostly served by individual railcars for passenger transport.

Locomotives

The operational KNFB procured two triple-coupled tank locomotives with the numbers 956 and 957 from the Floridsdorf locomotive factory on behalf of the Troppau – Grätz local railway . The kkStB classified them in their numbering scheme in 1907 with the company numbers 197.42 and 197.43 . The ČSD gave the locomotives the new numbers 310.139 and 310.140 in 1924. The 310.139 was retired in 1936, the 310.140 came to the Deutsche Reichsbahn in 1939 as 98 7731 . Their whereabouts are unknown.
