The Lokva is a small stream near Predjama in the municipality of Postojna in Slovenia .
The stream arises north below Šmihel pod Nanosom and Landol . It then runs northwards and after about two kilometers takes up the Jamščica stream near Predjama , and then disappears in the Predjamska jama (Predjama Cave), directly below the Predjama Castle ( Predjamski grad ) in a 100 m high rock face at the south foot ( Podgore) of the Hrušica (Birnbaumer forest) .
The cave belongs to the Predjama cave system ( Predjamski jamski sistem ), where the Lokva flows together with the northeastern streams Ribnik , Mrzlek and Belška voda . To the west is the Prvomajska jama in the catchment area. The cave system drains to the Vipava to the west, which is why the Birnbaumer Forest demonstrably does not form the Mediterranean – Black Sea watershed , which runs along its eastern and southern foot, but rather belongs to the Isonzo (Soča) catchment area. All the small channels south of Landol already go directly to Pivka , the Osojca east to the groundwater body Pivka-Unica, i.e. the Postojna cave system ( Postojnski jamski sistem , Adelsberger Grotto).
