Lon Grahnke

Lon Grahnke (born January 21, 1950 in Cook County , Illinois , † September 1, 2006 in Chicago , Illinois) was an American film critic and journalist .

Life

Lon Grahnk was born to Grace and Arthur Grahnke. He grew up in Lyons . He graduated from Berwyn's Morton West High School in 1968 and graduated from Columbia College with the best of his class in 1972. He then became a reporter for Suburban Week and later for the Chicago Daily News. From 1990 he was responsible for the television review for the Chicago Sun-Times . In 1998 he quit film criticism to teach journalism. He stayed with the Times until 2001 and was replaced by Phil Rosenthal.

Grahnke died on September 1, 2006 as a result of Alzheimer's disease . He was 56 years old and left behind his wife Gwen Gotsch, three children together and was survived by both parents.
