Life

London Breed grew up in poor conditions with her grandmother Cornelia Brown in the then precarious residential district of Western Addition in San Francisco. Create

London Breed was the managing director of the American Art & Culture Complex in the Western Addition district for over 10 years. She was elected to the San Francisco County's Board of Supervisors in 2012 and President in 2015. In this capacity, she was the successor to the mayor's office when the then incumbent Mayor Ed Lee suddenly passed away in December 2017. After serving as mayor for just over a month, she was replaced by the Board of Supervisors, fearing that her tenure would give her an election advantage. She won the June 2018 election as mayor for the remainder of Lee's term, which ran until 2020. In November 2019 it was confirmed by a majority in the mayor's office

London Breed is primarily involved in the areas of urban housing improvement, the environment, public safety, transport and quality of life.
