The half-orphan actor's daughter was filmed for the first time at the age of four weeks and gained her first stage experience at the age of one. From the age of three, she took on numerous child roles in film. For The Marriage of Mrs. Mary , she completed a four-year dance training.
She became permanently known as the little girl in The Golem, How He Came Into the World of 1920, who removes the glittering star on his body from the terrifying clay colossus, whereupon it collapses dead. Despite further film appearances, such as in Nosferatu (1922) or Die joudlose Gasse (1925), Loni Nest fell into oblivion after the silent film era. Her last appearance was in the French film L'épervier from 1933.
