Loni Nest , born in Eleonore Nest , (born August 4, 1915 in Berlin , † October 2, 1990 in Nice ) was a German child actress in the silent film era .

Life

The half-orphan actor's daughter was filmed for the first time at the age of four weeks and gained her first stage experience at the age of one. From the age of three, she took on numerous child roles in film. For The Marriage of Mrs. Mary , she completed a four-year dance training.

She became permanently known as the little girl in The Golem, How He Came Into the World of 1920, who removes the glittering star on his body from the terrifying clay colossus, whereupon it collapses dead. Despite further film appearances, such as in Nosferatu  (1922) or Die joudlose Gasse  (1925), Loni Nest fell into oblivion after the silent film era. Her last appearance was in the French film L'épervier from 1933.

For a long time there were no reliable sources about her further life. It was only in 2014 that the Düsseldorf actor researcher Toni Schieck discovered on the basis of a death certificate that Loni Nest died at the age of 75 on October 2, 1990 in Nice in the south of France.

family

Loni was the daughter of actress Anni Nest, her younger sister Ursula Nest also worked in this profession until World War II.
