Lopatanj ( Serbian Cyrillic : Лопатањ) is a village in western Serbia . The village is located south of the municipality capital Osečina .

Geography and population

Lopatanj is located in Opština Osečina , in Okrug Kolubara in western central Serbia in western Podgorina , a historical region. The village had 1,110 inhabitants at the 2011 census, compared to 1,372 inhabitants in 2002. According to the last three population statistics, the number of inhabitants continues to fall.

The population is largely made up of Serbs . A Roman Catholic Slovene and a Czech , as well as 44 Roma, also live in the village . The place consists of 385 households.

Lopatanj consists of several hamlets , the largest of which is Cerje. The village is surrounded by some hills such as B. the Cvetno brdo, the Sušara and the Bojčica.

The church belongs to the Podgorina deanery of the Valjevo Eparchy of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The current priest is Milan Madžarević.

On October 31, 2017, the Slava (holiday) of St. Luke the Apostle and Evangelist, Bishop Milutin (Knežević) visited the Bishop of the Eparchy Valjevo Lopatanj and gave the Holy Liturgy in the village church.
