Lore Frisch
Lore Frisch (born May 4, 1925 in Schwindegg ; † July 6, 1962 in Potsdam ) was a German actress .
Life
Eleonora Frisch, daughter of a master painter from Bad Reichenhall , took ballet lessons during her school days. She was used as a nurse during World War II . Then she joined the traveling stage Ostfriesische Kammerspiele Leer in East Friesland , where she was last stationed .
Lore Frisch initially worked as a prompter, tailor and set painter. Later she also took on theater roles. In 1948 she performed in Ingolstadt and at Munich theaters. She received acting lessons from Martin Hellberg and worked at times as a broadcaster, typist and nurse. In the early 1950s, Lore Frisch worked in three homeland films .
Martin Hellberg, who moved to the GDR in 1949, brought her to DEFA in 1954 . In the film comedy Der Ochse von Kulm she played the wife of a Bavarian farmer who rebelled against the American occupation forces. In 1958 she had great success as the leading actress in the revue film My Wife Makes Music . In it she played a housewife who steadfastly goes her way as a singer. In other ways, too, she embodied self-confident women, especially as a women's rights activist in Only One Woman . In contrast, in the satire Das Kleid , an adaptation of the fairy tale The Emperor's New Dresses , she was an opportunistic clothing minister. Because of obvious parallels to everyday life in the GDR, the film did not premiere until 1991.
Lore Frisch, who had lived in the GDR since 1959 and occasionally appeared in theaters, died of suicide in 1962 .
