Lothar Trautmann

Lothar Trautmann (* 1935 in Berlin ; † February 1, 2010 ibid) was a German theater director, actor and acting director.

Life

Trautmann was trained at the Max Reinhardt School in Berlin . In his younger years he appeared several times in smaller television roles. His staging of Hans Henny Jahnn's Thomas Chatterton (1970), developed together with Gustav Burmester , was produced for television.

For several years he worked at various city theaters, such as the Lübeck Theater . He then came to the theater in Essen as senior director, where in 1975 he brought out his productions of the world premiere of Alexander Solzhenitsyn's Republic of Labor and a remarkable production of the musical Cabaret . In 1976, Trautmann went to Darmstadt in the same position at the state theater there . In Darmstadt he made his debut with the seldom played Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz drama The Soldiers .

In 1981 he moved to Saarbrücken , where he was acting director until 1990 and also headed the acting department of the music academy from 1987 . Then he went to Karlsruhe .

His productions were characterized by psychological accuracy and meticulous text interpretation.

Lothar Trautmann has two children from his first marriage: the musician Anke Trautmann and the cameraman Frank Trautmann .

From 1993 to 2002 he was married to Nora Noé .
