Lotta & die alten Eisen is a German TV film directed by Edzard Onneken from 2010 . It is the pilot of the ZDF film series Lotta with Josefine Preuss in the title role. The television series is based on the book The Last Things by Annegret Held .

Lotta is a cheerful, impulsive, young woman in her mid-twenties. She has not grown up yet and is still without any training, which bothers her down-to-earth father very much. When he gives her an ultimatum and threatens to stop the financial support, she decides to do an internship as a nurse in the local retirement home, which she was offered on the same day.
