Annegret hero
Annegret Held (born April 25, 1962 in Pottum / Westerwald ) is a German writer .
Life
After graduating from high school, Annegret Held did an internship in a hospital and did a voluntary social year in a life support facility . From 1982 she trained as a police officer and then worked for three years in Darmstadt and Frankfurt am Main as police chief sergeant on patrol duty . From 1987 she studied ethnology and art history . After that, she performed various activities, including a. as a secretary in a law firm and assistant in the care sector and as an aviation security assistant in the area of passenger control. Today she lives with her daughter as a freelance writer in Frankfurt am Main.
Annegret Held is an author who portrays contemporary urban as well as rural-provincial reality. In On Ash Wednesday it's all over from 1997, the carnival goings-on in a Catholic-influenced Westerwald village is portrayed like a novel in many dialogues. Her book Meine Nachtgestalten formed the basis for the film Die Polizistin by Andreas Dresen and Laila Stieler , for which the two, together with the actors Gabriela Maria Schmeide and Axel Prahl, were awarded the Adolf Grimme Prize with gold in 2001. Her novel The Chamber Maid was filmed as a television play for ZDF in 2005 .
Annegret Held is a member of the writers' association PEN Center Germany .
