Lotte Brügmann-Eberhardt

Lotte Brügmann-Eberhardt , née Droste (born February 1, 1921 in Dortmund ; † October 3, 2018 in Kiel ) was a German writer . She also wrote under her maiden name Lotte Droste .

Life

Lotte Brügmann-Eberhardt visited the Oberlyzeum in Castrop-Rauxel , where she was already noticed by her essays. Since 1938 she lived in Kiel, completed a commercial apprenticeship and was an accountant until she was 50 . In 1949 she married the businessman Fritz Eberhardt, who died in 1969; In 1972 she married the church musician Hans Brügmann, who was also widowed. With the exception of the years from 1971 to 1978, when her husband worked full-time in Kellinghusen , she lived in Kiel until her death.

For more than sixty years she wrote short stories in High and Low German as well as poetry for newspapers and magazines . Their main concern was to warn of undesirable developments in society and to counteract them with a positive attitude.

Of her over a hundred popular novels , 35 have been translated into foreign languages. Since 1984 she has been traveling to readings in German-speaking countries . Her topics were taken from real life, thoughtful, but also made a smile.

She was a member of the Association of Writers in Schleswig-Holstein e. V. , in the Friends' Association for Contemporary Literature Nordbuch eV and in the Lyrikkreis Euterpe .

Awards

  • In 2008 she received the Austrian poetry prize Vinum et Litterae .
