The Lotus SmartSuite is an office package from the manufacturer IBM (original manufacturer Lotus ) for the Windows and OS / 2 operating systems . The last fix pack for SmartSuite 9.8.5 was released in 2008. However, Smartsuite 9.8x and Organizer 5.x to 6.1 can be used on Windows Vista and Windows 7 . Nevertheless, the applications were still marketed until November 2013. The extended support for registered customers ended in September 2014.

The applications of the program collection in the 9.8.x versions can read and write Microsoft formats, whereby no DTP- like fidelity to the original can be expected with regard to layout and line or page breaks . With earlier versions (up to approx. 1999/2000) rudimentary interoperability was limited to the use of exchange formats such as the RTF format. Microsoft hardly supports the Lotus formats, Microsoft Office can only open WKS and WK1 / WK3 / WK4 files of some older 1-2-3 program versions.

The collection of office programs from Lotus Development is particularly suitable for teamwork and can be used together with Lotus Notes . The object-oriented programming language Lotusscript is available in most applications.

There are also the ScreenCam and SmartCenter utilities .
