Louis-Charles-César Le Tellier, chevalier de Louvois , marquis de Courtanvaux , duc d'Estrées since 1763 (* July 2, 1695 - January 2, 1771 ), was a French military leader and Marshal of France .

Letellier-Louvois was a grandson of the War Minister Louvois . He served as a Knight of Malta in Spain , Bohemia and 1743–47 in the Netherlands .

He became Marshal of France on February 24, 1757 and was given the command of the army in Germany in March 1757 . He crossed the Weser and took in Münster from May 25th to 3rd / 4th. June 1757 in just under the Munster Artillery General and builder Johann Conrad Schlaun completed Erbdrostenhof on Salzstraße his headquarters .

On July 26th, he defeated the Duke of Cumberland at the Battle of Hastenbeck , but had to surrender his command to the Duke of Richelieu as a result of court intrigues .

In 1762 he took over command of the main army again with Soubise , but without doing anything. Since 1763, Duke of Estrées, he remained a member of the secret council until his death on January 2, 1771. With him, the name Estrées became extinct .
