Louis cousin

Louis Cousin (born August 21, 1627 in Paris , † February 16, 1707 ibid) was a French historian , lawyer and translator .

Life

As a lawyer, Cousin temporarily served as royal censor and director of the cour de monnaies .

On his 70th birthday in 1697, Cousin was accepted into the Académie française as the successor to the late Paul-Philippe de Chaumont (armchair 3). After his death in 1707, Jacques-Louis de Valon was appointed as successor by the Academy .
