Louis Hahnsen

Karl Louis Hähnsen (born June 11, 1873 in Braunschweig , † January 30, 1939 in Hamburg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Hähnsen attended the Braunschweig Middle School. He then did an apprenticeship as a belt maker and worked in this profession. He became a member of the SPD and the union. From 1903 to the end of 1918 he was managing director of the German Metalworkers' Association in Magdeburg and Essen. He was a (unsuccessful) candidate in state and Reichstag elections several times. He was a city councilor in Magdeburg.

In 1919 he became chairman of the SPD district association in Magdeburg. From April 9, 1923 until his release at his own request in April 1927, he was district administrator in the Neuhaldensleben district . In 1919 he was elected to the provincial parliament of the province of Saxony . This elected him to the Prussian State Council . He was a deputy member of the Council of State from January 21, 1925 to April 1925, then as a full member from April 1925 to February 1926, and then again as a deputy member from February 1926 to January 1930 and most recently as a full member from January 1930 to April 1933 .
