Louis Hunter
Louis Jäger (born April 30, 1930 in Mauren ; † October 21, 2018 ) was a Liechtenstein graphic artist and painter, draftsman, cartoonist and - according to himself - "author of ironic publications". He designed more than 130 stamps for Liechtenstein.
biography
After primary school, Louis Jäger worked as a ceramic painter in Nendeln and as a decorative painter in Mauren. He completed an apprenticeship as a graphic designer from 1957 to 1961 and attended the Blocher School for Free and Applied Arts in Munich in 1957/58 . From 1958 to 1961 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and from 1961 to 1962 at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin . In 1962 he opened his own atelier for graphics and exhibition design in Vaduz. He became known for his Liechtenstein postage stamps. As early as 1960 he designed a multicolored European brand with the strictly geometric honeycomb pattern. He designed numerous postcards, special postmarks and first-day envelopes.
