Louis Jaccard

Louis Jaccard (born February 16, 1848 in Vers-chez-Jaccard , † January 27, 1908 in Sainte-Croix , resident in Sainte-Croix) was a Swiss politician .

From 1871 to 1898 Jaccard was a music box manufacturer at the Jaccard Frères company , which was dissolved in 1901.

He began his political career as a free-spirited councilor in Sainte-Croix and was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Vaud in 1878 , where he had a seat until 1894. From 1884 to 1885 he was a member of the Constitutional Council and part of the provisional government of Vaud . From 1892 he was deputy governor of Sainte-Croix, before he succeeded his father, Louis-Samuel , from 1894 to 1908 governor.
