Louis Lehle
Louis Lehle , originally Ludwig Lehle , (born August 31, 1846 in Ulm ; † unknown) was a German architect in the USA . He worked for several US breweries.
biography
Little is known about Lehle's life. Only the Chicago Census from 1917 provides rough information.
Lehle was born in Ulm in 1846. In 1860 he began studying at the Stuttgart Polytechnic. Seven years later he emigrated to America and settled in Chicago .
In 1872 he married Josephine Watson, with whom he had four children. Together with his sons Georg and Louis William Jr., Lehle founded the architecture office Louis Lehle & Sons in Chicago.
From 1889 to 1894 he ran the Wolf & Lehle architectural office in Chicago together with the architect Frederick Wolf .
In addition to his work as an architect, Lehle was President of Commercial Motion Picture Manufacturing Co. and a member of the Architects' Business Association.
He participated in the Second International Brewers' Congress in Chicago, where he gave a lecture on the choice of location, planning and construction of breweries.
