Louis Uhl (actually Alois Franz Uhl , born November 22, 1860 in Vienna , † February 1, 1909 ibid) was an Austrian painter .

Life

Uhl studied from 1877 to 1883 at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under August Eisenmenger and Hans Makart .

After completing his studies, he worked as a freelance artist in Vienna. He was mainly engaged in portrait and genre painting . There is a signed and dated work by Stiller Winkel from 1907. He was represented at numerous exhibitions between 1902 and 1909, which speaks more for a year of death in 1909 than in 1902. His artistic estate was auctioned in March 1910. He is also mentioned as an active exhibitor in the journal Die Kunst in 1908 in the report on the “anniversary exhibition in the Vienna Künstlerhaus”.
