After relegation in 1981, he formed the coaching trio in the 1981/82 season together with his former teammates Rik Coppens and Cois Geeraerts , which led Beerschot VAC in the promotion round to return directly to the First Division. He briefly coached the City Pirates team from the Antwerp district of Merksem from 1985 to 1987 , and later the youth of the Beerschot VAC.
