Louis of Bignio
Louis von Bignio ( July 29, 1839 in Pest - November 29, 1907 in Vienna , Austria-Hungary ) was an opera singer ( baritone ).
Life
Bignio studied in Pest with Peter Stoll and in Vienna with Gaetano Rossi and Giovanni Gentiluomo . He made his debut as a “hunter” in the night camp in Granada at the Deutsches Theater in Pest.
On April 1, 1863 he made his debut at the Kärntnertortheater, where he remained until September 30, 1883. His main roles included " Rigoletto ", "Graf Luna" ( Il trovatore ), "Wolfram" ( Tannhäuser ) and " Zampa ".
The court opera appointed him a chamber singer and in 1883 an honorary member .
