Therese Biedermann , married Therese Edle von Singer ( September 24, 1863 in Vienna , Austrian Empire - May 25, 1942 in Vienna, Austria ) was an Austrian singer ( mezzo-soprano , soprano ).

Life

As a child she played at the Burg in 1877 and at the Vienna City Theater in 1878. She made her professional debut in 1882 at the Mödlinger Sommertheater. In 1884 she went to Brno (debut role: “The seamstress”). Then she went to Graz and in 1886 came to the Theater an der Wien . From 1890 to 1891 she was at the Wallnertheater in Berlin and then returned to the Theater an der Wien, to which she belonged until 1901.

It was considered one of the most prominent and popular soubrettes of the golden operetta era . From 1901 to 1904 she was at the Carltheater and appeared for the last time in Danzer's Orpheum .

She was married to Richard Edler von Singer from around 1890 (January 28, 1860 in Vienna - January 28, 1860 in Vienna). In 1926, completely penniless, she turned to the press with a cry for help.
