Louisa Bartel

Louisa Maria Bartel (born April 16, 1965 in Schmallenberg ) is a German lawyer and a judge at the Federal Court of Justice since 2015 .

Life

After completing her legal training, she entered the higher judicial service of the state of Baden-Württemberg in 1993 . She was employed as a trial reporter at the Karlsruhe District and Regional Court and at the Karlsruhe Public Prosecutor's Office and was appointed judge at the Karlsruhe Regional Court in December 1996. From the beginning of 2001 to May 2004, Bartel was seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court as a research assistant , then to the Karlsruhe Higher Regional Court , where she was promoted to judge at the Higher Regional Court in February 2005. In 2011 Bartel did his dissertation at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg on the subject of " The ban on reconstructing the main hearing: attempting to legitimize ". In December 2012, she moved to the Karlsruhe Regional Court as presiding judge, where she headed two criminal chambers.

In April 2015 Bartel was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and assigned to the 2nd criminal division. She is currently a judge in the 4th Criminal Senate .

In November 2016 she was appointed deputy press spokeswoman for the Federal Court of Justice. In this respect, she is the successor to Yvonne Ott , who was elected judge of the Federal Constitutional Court in October.
