Dame Louise Agnetha Lake-Tack GCMG (born July 26, 1944 in Long Lane Estate (St. Phillips Parish)) is an Antiguan politician and former Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda .

biography

After completing school at Freetown Government School and Antigua Girls High School in Saint John’s , she began training as a nurse at Charing Cross Hospital in London in Great Britain . After returning to Antigua, she worked for some time as a nurse at the National Heart Hospital and the Harley Street Clinic.

She later completed a law degree and after completing her studies initially worked as a judge at the Magistrate Courts of Marylebone and Horseferry. Then she was a judge at the courts of appeal of the Crown ( Crown Court ) in Pocock and Middlesex.

On July 17, 2007, she was appointed as the successor to Sir James Carlisle as the first Governor General of Antigua and Barbuda and was thus the representative of Queen Elizabeth II as head of state. Her term of office ended on August 13, 2014, and Rodney Williams became the new Governor General .

In 2007 she was awarded the Dame Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George for her services .
