Louise Rhodes
Louise Rhodes , Lou for short , also Louise Robinson (born November 1, 1964 in Leeds ), is an English singer and songwriter.
She became known as a member of the band Lamb , where she was responsible for vocals, lyrics and songwriting. She was also active as a guest singer, among others with 808 State , Funkstören , Plump DJs , A Guy Called Gerald and The Cinematic Orchestra . After years of creative tension with her bandmate Andy Barlow , who had a major influence on Lamb's music, she founded her own record label infinite bloom in 2005 and released the solo album Beloved one . The album breaks with the style characteristic of Lamb, which was influenced by trip-hop and drum and bass , and moves towards folk , characterized by acoustic sounds. In October 2007 the second solo album Bloom was released , in March 2010 the third album One good thing and in July 2016 the fourth album Theyesandeye . Since 2012 she has been touring again with Andy Barlow in the Lamb formation.
She lives on a farm in Surrey with her two children . She has published two children's books in collaboration with illustrator Tori Elliott : The Phlunk (2012) and The Phlunk's Worldwide Symphony (2013).
