Louise de La Béraudière du Rouhet , called La belle Rouhet (* 1530 ; † April 10, 1586 at Château de Coulonges-les-Royaux) was a mistress of the titular king of Navarre and the French kings Henry III. and Heinrich IV.

Life

Louise de La Béraudière du Rouhet was the maid of honor of the French Queen Catherine de Medici and later of her daughter Margaret of Valois . Catherine used the beauties at court according to the interests of her politics, so Louise became the mistress of the titular king of Navarre , Antoine de Bourbon, duc de Vendôme . The relationship made him more and more estranged from his wife, Queen Jeanne d'Albret de Navarra . Louise had a common son: Charles de Bourbon (1554-1610), Marshal de Saint-André and later Archbishop of Rouen . After the death of her lover, Louise de La Béraudière du Rouhet married Louis de Madaillan d'Estissac (1502–1565), governor in La Rochelle and lieutenant general in Poitou in Paris in 1562 . You left the French court and lived in Poitou. The marriage resulted in a daughter: Claude (1564–1600) ⚭ 1587 François IV. De La Rochefoucauld.

Louise received several important personalities at Château de Coulonges-les-Royaux, such as Queen Mother Catherine de Medici , her daughter Margaret of Valois , Michel de Montaigne and François Rabelais . In 1580 she entered into another love affair with Robert de Combaud, seigneur d'Arcis-sur-Aube - the union resulted in two girls: Claude and Louise. In 1586 Robert succumbed to the wounds he suffered from a duel. Shortly afterwards, Louise de La Béraudière du Rouhet died.
