Luc Tardif Sr. (born March 29, 1953 ) is a former Canadian - French ice hockey player and current - functional . Since 2006 he has been President of the newly founded Fédération française de hockey sur glace . His son Luc Tardif junior is also a professional ice hockey player.

Career

Luc Tardif began his career as a hockey player with the Ducs de Trois-Rivières , for which he was active in the Canadian junior league QMJHL in the 1972/73 season . Then the attacker paused with the ice hockey, before he was active from 1975 to 1977 for the Brussels Royal IHSC in the Belgian Eredivisie . With the capital club he won the championship in both years . From 1978 to 1983, the Canadian with a French passport for the Chamonix Hockey Club competed in the French Ligue Magnus , with which he was champion in 1979 and runner-up in 1980. With the French record champions, Tardif developed into one of the best strikers in the league and received the Charles Ramsey trophy as a league- wide top scorer four times (1979, 1980, 1981 and 1983) .

From 1985 to 1988 Tardif played for Rouen Hockey Elite 76 in Ligue Magnus. After a season at Hockey Club de Caen in the second-rate Division 1 , he returned to Rouen for the 1989/90 season and was French champions for the second and last time in his career. Following this success, he ended his career at the age of 37. In 2006 he became the first president of the newly established Fédération française de hockey sur glace , for which he has been working since then.
