Lucas Vidal (* 1984 in Madrid , Spain ) is a Spanish composer .

Life

Lucas Vidal grew up in Madrid , where he learned piano at the age of four and began improvising works by Johann Sebastian Bach at the age of nine . So his parents sent him to a youth orchestra, where he should improve his skills. There he met the son of the Spanish musician Paco de Lucía , who, however, always wanted to get him excited about amateur films. At first, Vidal was reluctant to do so, as he had no interest in neither acting as an actor nor even participating in the film, as he much preferred to deal with his music. Only later did he realize that music could also be combined with the medium of film.

After Vidal's uncle attended a music seminar at Berklee College of Music and returned to Spain, he told 15-year-old Lucas about it, who seemed absolutely enthusiastic about the possibilities, so that in each of the following two years he had a five-week summer program attended to train his musical skills. He made such a good impression that he received a study scholarship after the second year . He used this to study composition and film music at Berklee and graduate with summa cum laude . During his studies he was the youngest Berklee student ever to compose and record a film score with an 80-man orchestra. He then moved to New York City , where he refined his craft under the composer Richard Danielpour at the Juilliard School . In 2013 he composed the music for the sixth part of the Fast and Furious series . He replaced Brian Tyler , who composed the music for the three previous films.

With 21 was with him cancer diagnosed, which it after three months chemotherapy could defeat.
