Luciano Ricceri (born April 24, 1940 in Rome , † February 1, 2020 in Orte ) was an Italian film and costume designer .

Live and act

Ricceri studied painting in Florence and then set design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome. Even when he was in his twenties he went to film and was involved, partly as an assistant, partly as a film architect, in several works by Federico Fellini such as Achteinhalb and Julia und die Geister . From the 1970s Ricceri was one of the leading and best-employed production designers in his country. Collaborations have brought him together with a number of recognized directors, including several times Ettore Scola and Dino Risi .

In 1987 Ricceri received the Golden Shell for his designs for Giuliano Montaldo's glasses with gold rims , in 1991 the Silver Ribbon for the designs for Scola's The Journey of Capitan Fracassa and ten years later David di Donatello for his work on the film Concorrenza sleale by the same director. Luciano Ricceri was active until his last years and mainly designed buildings for sometimes very elaborate television multi-partitions.
