Lucy Topoľská

Lucy Topoľská , (born December 31, 1933 , in Olomouc ) is a Czech Germanist and translator.

Life

Lucy Topoľská studied German and Russian Philology at the Palacký University in Olomouc and at the Charles University in Prague. She worked in the Scientific Library in Olomouc and between 1965 and 2009 at the Chair of German Studies at the Philosophical Faculty of Palacký University. In 1989 she got into habit (doc.). In the 1990s she headed the chair for German studies.

She translated from German into Czech e.g. B. Works by Ödön von Horváth , Peter Härtling , Bernhard Schlink , Erica Pedretti , Leo Perutz , Melinda Nadj Abonji , Barbara Frischmuth , Martin Suter or Julia Franck .
